How he plays
A winger who also defends like a full-back. He will play anywhere on the left side and wins far more headers than a wide player should.
In Aussie and Kiwi terms
Think of the midfielder who tops the running stats every week and still chases in the last minute.
Three things to know
- He has won two Copa Américas, in 2021 and 2024.
- He won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games.
- His first Argentina goal was a header against Paraguay in 2020, in a match he played at left-back.
Watch for this in his game
The back-post header. When the cross comes from the right, he is the one arriving late on the left.
