How he plays
A left-footer who finds passes other players do not see. He drifts between the lines and makes the forwards look good.
In Aussie and Kiwi terms
Think of a halfback who runs the whole show, or a midfield general who is always one kick ahead.
Three things to know
- He is from Rosario, the same city as Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María.
- He set up Lautaro Martínez's winning goal in the 2024 Copa América final.
- He wears 11, the number Ángel Di María wore for Argentina.
Watch for this in his game
The disguised left-foot pass between two defenders, played a second before anyone expects it.
